    January 2017

It's been a busy year for Wellington's very own crooner Steve Carlin, performing up and down New Zealand at festivals, events, conferences and weddings.

The highlight of the summer so far has been his performance at the Gardens Magic concert series in Wellington's Botanic Gardens with "Steve Carlin and the Hiptomatic Swing Orchestra" - a 7 piece band comprising the finest jazz musicians Wellington has to offer (see photos in the 'photo gallery' page). Stay tuned for video footage of the concert (which was simulcast on internet radio "Groove FM") and for more exciting announcements of gigs with the Hiptomatics!

Steve has performed at the TSB Festival of Lights in New Plymouth where he dazzled the crowd with his hit show “Songs from the Swing Era”. He's also wowed the audience at Sky City's Las Vegas Extravaganza, and delighted the punters at the Wellington Cup Racing Carnival in the "Fashion in the field‟ (where he also sang the national anthem directly before the big race)

He is a regular draw card at NZ's premiere wine festival “Toast Martinborough”, and Tourism NZ selected him to sing at NZ‟s first same-sex marriage (The “Win a Wedding” competition, won by Trent and Paul from Australia) in August 2013. He also performed at events for Wellington on a Plate and Wellington Fashion Week, as well as numerous conferences, weddings and events, proving his appeal as a seasoned entertainer in demand.

“A voice of rare quality and unmatched tone...”  Capital Times, Wellington

Steve has performed in Australia for Hamilton Island Resort at its Audi Race Week festival,

and recently in the Wellington Town Hall for the NZ Cancer Society Annual Charity Ball. He's shared a stage with Peter Urlich and crooned to a roomful of ladies. You can catch him at his regular cabaret show in Wellington, or at a glitzy function near you. Perfect for weddings, cocktail hours, or a prestige ball...

    Testimonials

"I caught your act at the White Swan for the Wellington on a Plate event. Fabulous! You really do have a presence and a wonderful sense of rhythm and timing, not to mention an extraordinary vocal range. You also know how to work a crowd. ;)
We were so impressed that we made it a point to get to Medici last weekend, for your gig there. Again, first rate."

The ball was awesome! And everyone LOVED Steve! He was so good, everyone thought it was just the ipod playing and then they realised it was someone actually singing. Very pleased, and very happy with the performance as was everyone else and he is someone I would definitely recommend.

    Hi Steve

What a fantastic night we had; your entertainment was a key part in making it a success.
We received so many compliments on your behalf - most could not believe a live singer in such an environment would sound so great. You were excellent and we thank you for that.
